The case for evening council meetings
A council meeting held in the middle of a workday is technically public and practically closed to most working residents. Moving regular meetings to the evening where practical is one of the cheapest accessibility improvements a municipality can make.
Recording meetings and posting them online goes further: residents can watch later, at their own pace, and see how decisions were actually made. Where feasible, carrying meetings or municipal updates on Westman Communications' local community channel would reach residents who aren't online.
This is a proposal, not a criticism of anyone. It would need a council decision, a bit of equipment, and a willingness to try it.
